Value inspector

Space opens the value inspector beside the grid, and Space closes it. It follows the selection: one cell, a range of cells, a whole row, several rows compared, or a column. Pin inspector keeps it open across tabs, and reads Unpin inspector once it is.

JSON

  • Tree and Text switch the view.
  • Path to selected node gives the clicked node as an SQL path and as a JSONPath, each with a copy button.
  • Shape and Size describe the document.
  • Edit JSON opens the editor, with Format JSON (Shift-Alt-f) and a valid-JSON check. Applying it stages the change like any other edit.

Other types

  • Timestamps: UTC, ISO 8601, Unix seconds and Unix ms, each copyable. A value without a zone says No time zone stored.
  • UUID: Version and No dashes, or Not an RFC 9562 UUID.
  • Binary: Byte view in Hex or Base64, with Length.
  • Enum: Labels in declared order.
  • Foreign keys: the referenced row, with Open.
  • In this table: how many loaded rows share the value. Count in table counts the whole table.
  • Filters: Filter = value, Exclude, Filter IS NULL, Exclude NULL.

Column facts

Click a column header to select the column, and the inspector shows Definition, then what the database keeps about the column: Most common values, NULL, Distribution, Avg width and Correlation. In the loaded page counts what is loaded. Run exact builds an Exact profile from the whole table.

Engine Column facts from
PostgreSQL pg_stats
MySQL Histograms. Without one: "MySQL has no histogram for this column. ANALYZE TABLE … UPDATE HISTOGRAM builds one."
MariaDB None. "This database keeps no column statistics; Run exact counts them."
SQLite None, with the same message as MariaDB.
